The search feature in the Traverse web app can help you find cases, people, organizations, addresses, and content.

To search for a case, person, organization, or address

  1. Open the drop-down menu to the left of the search bar and select the case, person, organization, or address search type.

  2. Enter your search term, then click the magnifying glass icon or press Enter on your keyboard.
Search results appear. The search defaults to a prefix search, which means that Traverse will find partial matches for your search criteria. (For example, a search for "John" might return results for "John," "Johnny," "Johnson," etc.) You can use the Exact matches only filter to show exact results.

To search for content

  1. Open the drop-down menu to the left of the search bar and select the content search type.
    The Content search page appears.

  2. Enter your search term in the main panel, then click the magnifying glass icon or press Enter on your keyboard.
Traverse will find text within content (Context text), comments attached to content (Comments), and image labels generated from your image content if you have the Case discovery feature access (Image labels).

The search returns content based on any access you have, so if you're in the Adoption service delivery for example, you can find Adoption content or unconnected content.

If your agency has content type access configured by group (see Adding and editing groups) and you have access to a content type, but you do not have access to one of its case connections, you can still see the content item but not the connection link to the case you cannot access.

Some notes to keep in mind:

  • You can use the filters to the left of the results list to narrow down lots of results.

  • You can search for cases, people, and organizations by date, such as a birthdate, but dates must be in YYYY-MM-DD format.

  • You can search for addresses across cases, people, and organizations. When you expand an address result, you'll see any cases, people, or organizations that contain that address.
