Adding a form from the mobile app

  1. Tap the plus icon on the left side of the screen.

  2. Tap Fill out a Form.

  3. Select a form to fill out.
    The form opens.

When you add a form from a case, person, or organization, it'll be connected to that case/person/organization. When you add a form from the main Traverse screen, it won't be connected to anything, but you can connect the form to a case, person, or organization later.

Filling out the form

As you fill out the form, keep in mind:

  • Your progress is autosaved as you navigate between form fields.

  • The collapsible right-hand panel contains more options:

    • Tap Preview PDF to preview the PDF version of the form, which ensures all your text will fit when you finish it. While offline, you can still preview the finished form image, but the data you entered will not appear in the preview.

    • Tap the pencil icon to change the form's connections.

    • Tap the Notes tab to @mention a coworker you'd like to contribute to the form (see Setting up a form for sharing on mobile).

  • If the form was designed to require a signature, you must add the signature before you can finish the form.

Finishing the form (now or later)

To finish the form now, tap Finish.

Then, if needed, change the original date or add a comment that'll be stored with the content item and tap Confirm Finish.

Note: There are two places on the in-progress form where you can create a work item: the Create a Work Item button and in the window that appears when you tap Finish. The work item will be connected to the in-progress form if you create it from the Create a Work Item button. If you create the work item from the window that appears when you tap Finish, it'll be connected to the finished form once you tap Confirm Finish. See All about work items for more information.

Caution! If you delete an in-progress or finished form, any work items created from the form will also be deleted from a workspace.

If you don't finish the form now, you can access it on the To Do screen. Other workers can see the in-progress form within the case, person, or organization where it's connected.

Once you finish the form, it becomes a content item, and you cannot edit it.

Tip: Copying and creating a new form

If you've already finished a form and you'd like to reuse the information on it, tap Copy and Create a New Form within the finished form. On the new in-progress form, signatures will be removed and locked fields will be unlocked.

Note that this feature will not be available if forms were imported from your system of record as content items. Additionally, if the underlying form template has been updated since the form was finished, a copy of the template from when the form was finished (not the newest template) will be created.
